POSITION SUMMARY AND JUSTIFICATION:   

Manage the daily activities and coordinate, along with the Sr. Director of Audit & Compliance, the strategy for the Internal Audit Department in Brazil. Provide internal audit and regulatory compliance activities focused on governance, business risk analysis, and internal control implementation and assessment, providing assurance to the stakeholders and executive management regarding the company’s regulatory and internal control environment.   Takes lead on projects and may direct the work of others.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead integrated business process, financial, operational audits, due-diligence and JSOX compliance projects.
  • Establish a collaborative business relationship by building and maintaining good working relationships with various levels of financial and operational management throughout the organization while maintaining a professional level of independence.
  • Update management on audit findings and activities through oral and written communication.
  • Perform annual risk assessments, identifying key risk areas and use to assist in the development of the annual audit plan.
  • Execute the audit plan and assist the Sr. Director of Audit & Compliance with quarterly reporting of results to the Audit & Compliance Committee.
  • Participate in special projects including investigations in association with company’s Code of Conduct and Regulatory Compliance efforts.
  • Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities to improve their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and track emerging compliance and market conduct issues and advise management of any issues that could affect current business or necessary revisions to governance process.
  • Continue to review and enhance the detailed audit programs for all operations throughout Brazil.
  • Conduct onsite reviews of Gavilon facilities across domestic Brazil to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Gavilon’s specific policies and procedures.
  • Manage staff on a daily basis by providing work assignments to keep projects on task and provide feedback to improve and develop the skills of team members.
